Mimpi (Study)

A Mimpi is (I believe) an Indonesian spirit, though since we bought the statue we cannot find any information about it.

The statue is in our home, placed at the entrance, we see it every time we come home. I love it so much, her delicate, winsome features make me feel immediately relaxed.

This image was made at the beginning of the last decade, I'm posting it now because this is the right place for it, and I haven't any new shots yet. I've bought some film for my camera today for the first time in 8 years or so and will get back to analogia tomorrow.

I shot the four images on my Praktica LTL, using some sort of fine grain Ilford film (the type I cannot remember now) to pick up the texture. Then, using a series of masks I cut from stiff card, exposed the four images, painstakingly one at a time on the same paper.

I processed the paper and sepia toned it to warm it up.

@tallgrrlrocks. I'm going to do a tipster on this I think! It's easier than you'd think and opens the door for quite some creativity!
