The tipster section of the lomography magazine is something that always interests me - specially reading about crazy experiments with films. The dishwasher experiment by the lab rats at the lomo headquarter resulted in awesome shots that really made me say Wow! I also thought I should give it a try. During breaks between outreach performances to flood-affected communities, I had the time to make my crazy attempt. But the problem was I don't have a dishwasher at home. While I immediately thought the washing machine may be a good substitute, I was a bit concerned about the water temperature and the cycle time. Undaunted with my limitations, I opted to approximate the same effect by simply boiling my films and giving them a cold bath and drying afterwards as the tipster suggested. The results on the doubles I did on vintage portraits and images of paintings by renowned graffiti artist Basquiat I must say are very encouraging. This is the first of two albums.
I needed a roll to complete the set of 5 required to take advantage of the Digiprint promo. I managed to push my mind to quickly think of what to shoot. I haven't used much my Pop9 these past months and the Supersampler was behaving badly. That's why I unearthed the former from the cabinet and used it to texture this set of colorful portrait triples of old movie stars whose movies I used to watch when I was a kid in retro programs paired with men wearing shades. Used my reliable Canon A1 for the first and second layers. Indeed when induced, the mind could be a powerful force giving birth to creative ideas . I'm triple happy with the results. This set is so titled as males are associated with Mars. And you must have guessed it by now that the second volume will be from Venus.

Dance is not my strength. Perhaps I'm gifted with both left feet. But ever since my venture into the world of performing arts in the Philippines, I've heard about her name countless times from dancers and choreographers who idolized her. Did my own research about the lady who pushed the boundaries of modern dance as an art form. She danced and choreographed for over seventy years. If modern visual arts has Picasso, music has Stravinsky and architecture has Frank Lloyd Wright, modern dance has the quintessential Martha Graham. This is my humble analogue tribute to her greatness and sheer perfection.
