I traveled to Wuhan 5 months ago, and went on discovering the urban maze that is growing faster anywhere in China. I still prefer the old city parts of every city I visit in China, I was walking in an old alleyway with two of my friends, locals. I saw this woman and asked her for a portrait, she agreed and gently posed for me :) after that, she even invited us to see her house and sit for tea, so spontaneous so nice. I got the New Petzval 85 lens and couldn't wait to try it out. I shoot film and do fine art and street photography. Since I had no photo shoots scheduled recently, I set for myself a challenge—use the Petzval lens with my film camera. It's a challenge since I use a Nikon FM2 which is completely manual and mechanical in Street Photography, which normally requires a fast auto-focus camera. It's another challenge because I am trying the Petzval lens for the first time and I can't look at my images until I finish the film rolls and develop them, and what can I say, I was amazed by the results. I like to take portraits, either for friends or of strangers I ask in the streets. I live in Hong Kong, and I decided to go to one of the busy streets, near some markets in Sham Shui Po area, and I started my challenge.

The N Seoul Tower is a popular tourist spot that attracts herds of local and foreign visitors. Once up there, one can have a spectacular vista of Seoul. If you go up the tower itself, then you'll have 360-degree view of the metropolis. There are lots of interesting shops and restaurants to buy hot foods and drinks on cold winter days. Plus the entire area was seemingly designed for great photo-ops. To go there, fangcarpenter and I rode a cab so we can consume the money we loaded on our T-money cards. We were brought to the cable car station where we lined up to buy the tickets and ride the cable car up to the tower area. Then we climbed a few wooden stairs to the plaza. The huge tower was so overwhelming when we reached the top. The views were just awe-inspiring. Used a roll I previously exposed in Manila to create textured shots of my N Seoul Tower lomographs.
street cats have a hard life in Korea, Koreans generally do not like street cats and/or are scared of them. Nakji is the third street cat i have rescued. He was found in a garbage can when he was about 2 weeks old and I took him from the vet at the feral age of 4 weeks. he has been a feral pain in my ass since but i love him to death.
