Being in the tool business has allowed me access to some amazing places that few will ever see. Most of these shots were taken in the machine shop area of a local knife factory. Started in 1840, Lamson and Goodnow is one of the oldest continuously operating companies in the USA. This particular building dates from the late 1800's. Old tools and ancient greasy machines are everywhere throughout the facility and a thick layer of grime permeates every surface. It is in short, a fascinating place. :)

Thanks! This is with the 40/1.4 Classic Nokton by Voigtlander. I have to say, many of these Voigtlander lenses are excellent and reasonably priced. I love the Voigtlander pancake prime lenses I have for my Canon EOS mount cameras and all of the LTM (Leica screw mount) lenses have been wonderful as well. This particular one used for these photos, the 40/1.4 is an M mount that I bought when I purchased the Bessa two years ago. I didn't know as much then as I know now but luckily I stumbled into something good. :)

Very nice album, thanks pete. As I grew up in my father 's factory, I am familiar with these machine workshops, I feel like I can still smell the grease.... <:) So nice feeling..<:)
