At the back of the provincial capitol in Lingayen is a small war museum that features photographs, dioramas and artifacts of the World War II. Lingayen happened to be the landing area of Gen. Douglas MacArthur's troops fulfilling his famous promise of "I shall return (to the Philippines)." Soon after, the Japanese imperial army was defeated and the country was liberated from the Japanese. The morning before we left for Manila after the successful conduct of the health caravan I found time to visit the area and lomograph these interesting memories of a dark past in Philippine history.
