My cat Guido is known as a Polydactyl cat, or Thumb Cat. Polydactylism is a genetic mutation that causes a kitten to be born with extra thumbs on their paws.

It is a very rare (but lovable) mutation, and is believed to have been brought over on trade ships from the East Coast of USA to South West England.

Ernest Hemingway was a huge fan of these guys, and after being given a six toed cat as a pet, he decided to start collecting them, and decided in his will that he would leave his house to his Thumbed Cats. It is now a museum and safe house to over 60 Polydactyly cats.

I hope to take more photo's of Guido, but he really does not like the camera.
