I like to picture life spontaneously, and sometimes deliberately to defamiliarize it.
I guess photography is a subjective reflection of our perception of the signs and what they signify. The photo functions as the signifier and the sign at the same time, which refers to the world (infinite number of signs) out there. It also redefines the way we see, and perceive the world.
In a time that generative AI and machine learning is taking over the visual world, I think film photography is one of the last authentic resorts that we can cling to. It is real and it is proof of perseverance and patience.
My experimentation with different films, different cameras, and different locations or subjects helps me rediscover the world. I am enjoying this journey as I learn how to look differently.
