eternal path (indonesia #6)

This year I spent my birthday on an eternal path. I climbed the steps of Pura Besakih, the mother temple of Bali on the slopes of Mount Agung. This 1000 meter high hill is said to be the home of the dragon god, and I do believe it. Balinese Hinduism is quite a crossover, very free. Pura Besakih is the only temple where Hindus of all castes can worship. There are around 18 different sanctuaries, that preserve the gates to heaven...
