Tongue of the Glacier (NZ #44)

The thing with New Zealand is, you are most likely to be overwhelmed by nature, whereever you go and due to different reasons. I'd put Franz Josef on my route, because I wanted to fetch the train from Greymouth. In Franz Josef I met lovely Carolina from Bogotá and I saw a retreating glacier. Your can on land on it now wioth a helicopter, hikes are forbidden. A freind of mine was there roughly ten years ago and took a photo from a similiar spot. The ice went much deeper into the land then - climate change is real. Half a year later I went to Bogotá and united with Caro again.

Charming iI walked down the Fox Glacier with a guide after landing on the Fox Neve in a ski plane. in 1976. Stayed the night in historic Chancellor Hut , rained cats & dogs then spent a magic day descending the Fox Glacier

@lomodesbro that's actually a thing I would love to do Des, Hope I can repeat that, if there remains enough ice.
