I have looked at a bunch of Sunset Strip albums and although I liked the colors I saw I wasn't crazy about the grainy look. So I decided to try a roll out in the X-Pan to see what this film is capable of. I set the exposure for 125, just under the 100 rating, so that when it was cross processed it wouldn't get the highlights so blown out. I really like the results! It just goes to show that a very high quality lens will give you a big reduction in grain and excellent color rendition.

So that's how you tame the grain in Sunset. Great results!

wow Pete! that's a fantastic idea, underexposing the film. yeah i wasn't a fan of the intense graininess either... that's why i never bought the film!
