first steps with infrared

my first try with infrared film. seems the film is very sensitive. i checked light conditions with my canon and shot the roll at ISO 100. that wasn´t such a good idea i think. must learn how to handle the film better.

@realrampage: no IR-filter. i just took out the red filter of my holga jack set and hold it in front of the lens.

IR-photography is not easy. First of all, it actually only makes sense, using a IR filter. You can measure the light with another camera, but you need to mount the same filter then ( otherwise, you get wrong readings ). A Seagull is also a quite difficult camera for a first try. I would either use a toy camera with a fixed focal lens or a film camera, which also has a IR metering scale. The focus in normal light and IR is different. Some cameras/lenses do have an adjusted second scale though. Good luck !!!

you can see the IR bleeding though the paper on the back. you could try a little electrical tape. I think the seagull is a bellows focusing camera, and some bellows are translucent to IR. Cool shots though.
