Marta Pilotto's Fashion Editorial on LomoChrome Metropolis

After enchanting us with her editorials shot with our experimental films, Marta Pilotto returns to our Online Magazine with a new series shot entirely on a LomoChrome Metropolis film.

Hi Marta, welcome back to our Online Magazine! Please tell us about this wonderful photo series taken with our LomoChrome Metropolis.

Always a pleasure and an honour to be published on your magazine! This series was for a spring campaign (so shot during winter, which is quite mild here in Spain where I live) and was shot in a rural location 30 minutes from Barcelona, an area where I normally shoot in any season and of which I appreciate every colour palette. I chose to accompany the digital work with the Metropolis because it is my favorite Lomography film and I was curious to see how it would react to the tones of the clothing collection!

Do you prefer the results obtained on film or digital? For what reason?

Despite the fact that the digital work was then published by a major magazine (Glamour), bringing me many tears of happiness, I remain more fond of its analogue version, because the result and the color rendering really amazed me. Also, one of the analogue photos was selected to be exhibited at ImageNation in Milan last September!

Why do you think more and more fashion photographers are starting or returning to shooting in analogue?

Despite the fact that generally works are mainly commissioned in digital, analogue wins a thousand to zero! And although the work is purely commercial, in analogue it is as if they suddenly show they have a soul, even boring e-commerce work!

Some of the shots have light leaks in them. Do you consider them disturbing elements or pleasant mistakes?

I consider those leaks to be pleasant mistakes. The photo selected for ImageNation is precisely one of those 'damaged' ones!

Do you have any future projects you want to tell us about?

For now, I will continue to carry a roll of film with me on every job, hoping that sooner or later a client will specifically ask me to work only in analogue – that would be quite a challenge!
