LomoMission: How to be a Superhero Winners
10 17 Share TweetForget about radioactive spiders and expensive fighting machines. To be lauded as a superhero in this community, having a film camera is more than enough.
“If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?”
The LomoMission: How to be a Superhero revolved around this question. The community answered with much gusto and showcased a variety of elaborate techniques and compositions to translate their dream superpower to photographs.
To aid us in determining the most convincing superhero-themed shot, we turned to LomoGuru and longtime community member @koduckgirl. Here are her top picks:
Grand Prize Winner:
koduckgirl: Every time I look at it I think of superpower: the light coming out of his eyes, how he is using his hand to control it. There is also an element of her having a super power to avoid his light beam. It’s very much like a superhero scene or fight. This is the other reason it feels more like a filming of a superhero photo than a “it happens to look like a superhero” shot.
Congratulations @_albam_! Now, prepare to take your superhero concept to the silverscreen with the LomoKino and LomoKinoscope package!
Runners-up:
koduckgirl: This one is definitely my second favorite. The arch villain has figured out how to knock the moon out of the sky and shift the balance of our oceans so tsunamis and earthquakes start happening regularly. Well, it’s not a problem for this superhero who dives in, grabs the moon, and saves the world.
koduckgirl: Another good one. The arch enemy has zapped the city’s power and liberated every system relying on digital surveillance. All prisoners have escaped. The most secure vault has been compromised. Then, our hero steps up, lighting up the city and recharging the electrical securities with his fingertips.
koduckgirl: Love this scene! It definitely looks very superhero-esque especially the way they are dressed and the mystery of doubling and transparency.
koduckgirl: He’s Clark Kent. Secretly he is Superman of course, even on a Monday when everything is in the laundry day except his Underoos. And I like the superhero color.
koduckgirl: This one had a feeling of a being with an ability to change the energy around him or her and gaining the power for the greater good.
Congratulations to our winners and thank you to everyone who joined us in the LomoMission! Also, special thanks to guest judge @koduckgirl for these excellent choices!
