Ropeway

Europe's longest ropeway bridge at Geierlay in the Hunsrück mountains in Germany. They actually built that bridge for the sole reason as a tourist attraction - it does not connect anything, it just spans a deep gorge. You can walk across to the other side, but there are only fields and so you turn back and walk across again. Kind of silly, and even sillier when you take into account that they don't even charge a fee. So, what's the point then? Well, they can claim to have the longest ropeway bridge in Europe, I guess ...
