Bridge raised on a White Night

Our city is famous for its "white nights" in summer (due to 60 latitude) and bridges which are raised every night to pass vessels from Baltic to internal water ways and even down to Caspian Sea. Sometimes these bridges influenced human fates as one shall have hard time trying to get to other side.
