Room 102 Stating the obvious, my self-portraits are a means to express myself. The imagery is not limited to the usual, hopefully aesthetically pleasing „selfie“ - it expands, transcendends, it tells stories. I use different materials and props to express certain ideas and to symbolise what I want to convey in a photo. The use of instant film emphasises the notion of uniqueness. Each instant photo represents a singular moment, that is almost never possible to reproduce. In contrary to digital images, these photos can be touched and held immediately after shooting. The themes are spread widely and correspond to the (sometimes tragic) human nature in general, but also to my inner self, my struggles, my weirdness, my strength. The viewer can be drawn in, sympathise and identify.
