Spirit of St Louis^2

About a month ago C and I went on a little trip to St. Louis, Missouri as a spur-of-the-moment getaway. I hadn't been to St. Louis since I was about five, but C has been there many times before. We decided that we wanted to check out the sights and attractions, since the city is known for having many museums, and one of the most fabulous city parks in the country. Forest Park is immense, and much of it covers the old St. Louis worlds fair grounds. There is a gigantic zoo, many old mansions, a history museum, a small conservatory, and several playing fields. The weather was a little cold still (March is really the worst weather) but it was fun to see so many hisorical things, including the famous Spirit of St Louis, Charles Lindberghs plane!

@jamescat22 I looked it up, and yes. It is one of three (totally airworthy) reproductions of the Spirit of St Louis made for the film "Spirit of St Louis" starring James Stewart. So I guess you could say that it is the original "Spirit of St Louis" Spirit of St Louis in St Louis. :-D

@jamescat22 I have never been to DC! I want to go, but it's one of those "big trips" that I haven't done yet. Never been to DC, never been to the Grand Canyon, and I have never been in the state of Florida. There is another functional replica from the film that hangs out in the Lindbergh terminal at the Minneapolis/St. Paul international airport. If you ever get a chance to fly in there (it's a very nice airport) check it out!
