Schweer bey der Beckehof, Dieren.

The Schweer bey der Beckehof opened in 1913. The elderly complex was located outside the village, in the tranquility of the moors and forests and on the gravel road to Harderwijk. The capital for the complex came from the Amsterdam baker Casper Schweer bey der Becke, who had made wealth with speculation. Five-sixths of the houses were intended for elderly people from Amsterdam, one-sixth for locals. They had to be members of the "Nederduitsch Reformed Church". The architect was C. Posthumus Meyjes (1859-1922).
