I’m not perfect, but I’m limited edition.
One of my favorite film photos ever happened by a happy accident. It started when I was looking for a place to watch the sunrise near where I was staying, in a small town in Croatia. I ended up finding an old, abandoned church in the middle of a lake—a hidden place where it was just me and the soft pink-orange light of the morning.
That day, the sky was perfect. And as if by luck—or maybe it was a little gift—the very last photo on the roll had a streak of light leak across it. That made the picture not perfect in a normal way, but it turned out to be “imperfect in a colorful way,” and I feel deeply connected to it in a way that’s hard to explain.
Sometimes, it’s the little flaws that make a photo truly special and one of a kind.
