The ultimate Black and White film!

My friend rater offered me one roll of this film recently (Gracias hermano!). It was really a nice present, because I discovered a film that definitely amazed me, and pushed me to write my first film review about it.

Let’s be clear. It is pure BLACK and WHITE. Contrasts are crazy and the grain is ultra fine, I’m in love! I used a Canon F1N with a Zenitar lens (in which I had the red filter provided with it… This lens is so amazing that sometimes I think it would deserve a “lens review"!) and had the camera’s exposure setting at 25 ISO.

The lab which processed the film burned two shots by accident. They didn’t give me any detail, but I think that the process was a bit unusual which could also explain the crazy contrasts of these shots. In fact I’ve just ordered 10 rolls of it to make new test and If my next shots come out with the same quality, I will use this film a lot from now on.

I`m speachless!! Loved your results! What kind of lens is that anyway? In some pics it looks like a fisheye, in others it looks allmost like one, with great angle distortion, but without the dark edges on the pic.

Thanks a lot babo ! The lens is a Zenitar (@http://shop.lomography.com/zenit/lens/), it's a full-frame fisheye (180° in diagonal) and it rocks ! About the gallery, I really think the process was pushed by mistake (1 or 2 stops)... Anyway, I would recommend to overexpose this film...

It is a great film! Actually, it is THE b&w film, it is awesome... a pity you can not submit photos to the review, I have a couple of galleries in my home...

Maybe your photo are a bit overexposed because the film is rated at 32 iso and you set the camera at 25...

This is the craziest b/w gallery I have ever seen. I want to shoot some of this. It's out of control. I bet it would make for amazing portraits. Way to go Stouf...and Rater for the sweet hook up.
