The Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Festival is an annual event that attracts many tourists including the local Malaysian community to fascinate the creativity of the hot air balloon makers from Japan, Switzerland, USA, Belgium, New Zealand, France, and the Netherlands.This is the 3rd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta which recently took place on the 17th to 20th of March 2011. It was held at the Monumen Alaf Baru, Precinct 2, Putrajaya.
The main attraction that you need to look for would be the hot air balloons of course. If you reach the venue early, you might get the chance to see how the crews set up the hot air balloons. You also need to try your luck getting inside for a closer shots. As for this year’s festival, I was really grateful to be there early and got the chance to see the balloons taking off especially Doraemon and Darth Vader. Not forgetting that there were also many side activities to look for ranging from a para-gliders show, remote control aircraft flying display, wall climbing, and even hot air balloon rides.
You need to wake up early and be there as early as 7:00am. If not, you will be in great disappointment as the balloons have already taken off. Make sure your cameras are all set to go. You might need some slide films for this and some luck depending on the weather.
